Chief Executive Officer

Ana is CEO at Armstrong Investment Managers. Previously Ana spent six years as co-head of Insight Investment’s $2 billion Multi-Asset Group. Prior to joining Insight, Ana worked at UBS Wealth Management as Director & Head of Portfolio Construction for the UBS Managed Accounts Program, managing $6 billion. She began her career at Coutts as an investment analyst.

Ana is also a director on the board of the Aberdeen Asia Income Fund. Ana has a PhD in Quantitative Economics and an MBA from Imperial College in London

Andrew Walker

Non-Executive Director

Andrew has over 20 years’ experience working as an independent consultant, leading and supporting business change initiatives in central government, particularly the Ministry of Defence. He started his career with British Telecom working on the development of large scale commercial IT systems. He then undertook various roles in the telecoms, financial services and consultancy sectors, supporting and managing projects and programmes to improve business performance through the introduction of IT. He holds an MBA from the Cranfield School of Business, an MSc in Psychology (Open University) and a BSc in Mathematics (Edinburgh University).

Cenk Aydin

Cenk started his career at Citigroup in New York before joining Bank of America as their Chief Operating Officer (COO) within the Corporate and Investment Bank for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He then served as Head of Corporate Segment at JPMorgan for EMEA. Throughout his banking career Cenk advised the world’s largest multinational corporations such as ArcelorMittal, Exxon, Halliburton, Royal Dutch Shell and many others across the world.  He is an expert in Corporate Finance, M&A, Energy, Global Strategy Formulation/Execution, Liquidity and Investment Management, Treasury Management, Operational Excellence and Risk Management.

Cenk was named one of the 100 influential global leaders under the age 40 in the world in 2010 by the World Economic Forum and currently serves on the President's Advisory Group of the EastWest Institute in New York, and served as Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Cooperation Platform under Turkish Presidency. Cenk was a corporate member of Council on Foreign Relations, Chatham House. He is currently a Trustee of Teach-A-Man-To-Fish.

Cenk studied Public Policy and Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School of Government and holds an MBA and a BA in Economics.  His personal interests include cross-border dialogue, security, ethics in finance, sustainable economic development.

 

Dr Paul Whelan

Head of Quantitative Research

Dr Paul Whelan is head of quantitative research / analytics. His research interests are in the areas of theoretical and empirical asset pricing with a specific focus in risk premium based relative value trades. Previous to joining Armstrong Investment Managers Paul lectured financial econometrics at Imperial College, London School, and consulted for both the Bank of England and European Central Bank.

Myri’s experience spans some 18 years in business development for small to medium sized asset managers. Throughout her career she has worked with a broad spectrum of asset management disciplines, successfully distributing their products and services into retail, discretionary and institutional clients. She has attained a broad base of industry connections that range from the FCA to PR agencies, from platform CEOs to transfer agents, as well as major nationals, networks, discretionary & institutional groups. A natural networker & relationship builder with drive to increase the status & financial well being of a company.

Daniel McAleese

Daniel McAleese

Head of Compliance

Daniel Mc Aleese has over 25 years experience in compliance and regulation. He was Head of Compliance at both Smith Barney Europe Ltd and PaineWebber Europe Ltd for a number of years, and has also held senior positions at the Securities & Futures Authority, Complinet and Livingstone Gunn. Through his firm, Robinson Mack, Daniel advises a wide range of organisations on all compliance and regulatory issues. He holds a Masters degree in Economics and Business Studies from Trinity College Dublin.

Sameer Khan

Chief Risk Officer

Sameer is Chief Risk Officer at Armstrong Investment Managers. After gaining his degree in Economics & Finance from the University of Southampton, Sameer has worked in various sales, trading and analyst roles across the City, most recently with Bloomberg. He is a qualified technical analyst, with both MSTA and CFTe designations, and has consulted on algorithmic trading strategy development with traders and investors at large financial institutions. Sameer joined Armstrong Investment Managers in 2015 and brings a dynamic background of experiences to drive AIM's risk and operations.

Michael Mayer

Following completion of his Masters from Oxford University, Michael has worked in several hedge funds including Fulcrum Asset Management and Moore Capital. He has experience trading across all asset classes and regions, and joined Armstrong Investment Managers in 2015 as Head of Trading.

Salvatore Imperatore

Salvatore Imperatore

Distribution Director / Europe

Dr. Salvatore Imperatore gained his Doctorate Degree in quantitative economics from the University of Naples, Federico II, in Italy in 1994; he then specialised in management of financial risks at the I.A.E. University of Aix-Marseille, France in 1995. From 1996 until 2001 Dr. Imperatore has worked in London, UK for leading banks, investment Houses and Asset Management companies such as Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, Cantor Fitzgerald International, and London and Capital Asset Management in the area of treasury, capital markets, and Equity Derivatives. From 2007 to date Salvatore has developed a number of FX and futures systematic strategies.

Luke Peto

Luke Peto

Analyst

Luke is an investment analyst at AIM to which he brings his quantitative knowledge. Luke studied Computer Science at the University of Cape Town before obtaining a BSc with majors in Mathematics and Physics at the University of South Africa in 2008. He is currently completing his postgraduate studies.
